“The Performance Is Finished”

“The Performance Is Finished”

Ballet Slipper

I did “The Performance is Finished” when my daughter, who was on track to be a prima ballerina, decided her heart wasn’t in it. After years of going to auditions etc., I realized I needed to do a piece as sort of a farewell. And this is it. I did this on hot press Watercolor paper with Faber-Castell drawing pencils.

The print is available as a fine art print on beautiful Hahnemuhle museum-quality paper.

Two Men Fishing

I saw these two men fishing where I walk most mornings, and had to put it to paper. I wanted to capture the stillness and morning mist.

This makes a beautiful print, and a great gift for a man.

Ram In The thicket

Ram In The thicket

Abraham Looked at up and saw a Ram in a Thicket

I really wanted to try and capture this Scripture which tells of Christ’s role in man’s life. I wanted to show the fear in the Ram’s face.

The Girls

The Girls

Thanks for peeking in here! Teaching is not my forte’,  but I hope you enjoy this attempt to show you a bit of the watercolor process. To begin,  I placed this painting on a board at about a 45°  angle. I taped it down, and then started drawing. Below is a sketch of the two hens I drew on the paper. Normally, I draw with a very light pencil so the lines can’t be seen through the paint. Here I’ve darkened them (in Photoshop) so you can at least see them… the bottom of the drawing got so dark, I had to eliminate it… (more…)
