I saw a photo of this preening egret and was so moved by the delicacy and vulnerability of his stance, When I saw the light filtering through his feathers, I had to try and capture it. Watercolor seemed like the perfect medium with its transparent layers. This piece has won many awards and is, perhaps, my most popular print.
