This painting, “Two Old Friends,” was prompted by seeing two old women in a hospital who were obviously friends. I wanted to create an “old world” feeling so I kept it in the sepia tones. I’m often pulled by folk art, and am torn between doing flat forms or more realistic rounded forms. This is always the tension when I go to create something. This is one of my more popular prints, and the original painting won several awards This print is 16.25″ high x 10.25″ wide, and is on museum-quality paper.
