Every day I would walk on the beach and see these guys clumped together, all facing the same direction. I’ve always found them amusing, and wanted to do a watercolor painting that not only captured the colors of the sand and sea but captured that silly stance. Often the wind would blow their hair the wrong way, and so this piece is also called “Bad Hair Day.”
